This week, I collected the tactile quality of surfaces on my site. For my method, I rubbed a pencil across a series of textured surfaces, and then I felt the surface with my bare feet. Through this process, I gained a visual understanding of varied surfaces, as well as a tactile understanding of the ground. In my outcome drawing, I integrate this texture and tactile method of registration by showing each surface through the lens of a footprint. This drawing simulates the tactile experience I had as I built a connection with the softness, humidity, and roughness of the ground.
